Samia Islam Farzana is a 21-year-old college student (Government Titumir College) from Bangladesh whose life once seemed destined for greatness. Handpicked by Mr. M. Shaker, the founder of Shaker International Scholarship Programs (sisp), Samia was chosen to be the face and ambassador of the organization—an inspiration for young Muslim women around the world. She was offered not only education and mentorship but also a platform to rise from poverty into a symbol of hope, leadership, and purpose.
But behind the scenes, a devastating betrayal was unfolding.
In a shocking turn of events, Samia—alongside her secret partner, Shahed Anwar Shadhin, another sisp-sponsored work/study student—carried out a series of actions that stunned the organization and shattered the very dream they were entrusted with. What was meant to be a story of inspiration has now become a cautionary tale of greed, manipulation, and betrayal.
Their alleged crimes include large-scale financial fraud, theft of organizational funds and equipment, and international cyberattacks that targeted U.S.-based businesses. These acts have led to multiple criminal investigations across borders. In Bangladesh, four serious lawsuits have already been filed against Samia, Shahed, and members of their families. Both are now under active investigation by Bangladeshi authorities, the FBI, and Interpol.
What makes this betrayal even more painful is Samia’s unearned financial gain during her 14 months of work with sisp. Despite never completing a single assigned task correctly, sometimes she somehow earned up to 25 times more than her promised salary in certain months—funds that were meant to help others in need. Thousands of dollars in gifts and bonuses were given to her in good faith by sisp and Mr. Shaker. But behind the scenes, Samia was not working for the organization—she was allegedly orchestrating crimes with her boyfriend Shahed Anwar Shadhin (Adamjee Cantonment College), her sister Jannatul Ferdous Fareha, student of Lalmatia Govt. Mohila College, and even their parents. Her time, her focus, and her loyalty were never with sisp—they were with a hidden criminal agenda that would eventually come to light.
In December 2024, her sister Jannatul Ferdous Fareha allegedly robbed sisp under a dramatic fake story made by Samia Islam Farzana and her family. It was later discovered that this act was pre-planned and staged—with Samia's parents full knowledge and involvement.
According to Mr. Shaker, "When the people of Bangladesh learn what I gave to Samia—what I sacrificed to help her rise—and what she did in return, they will feel a deep national shame."
Samia Islam Farzana and her criminal boyfriend were exposed bysisp and its founder Mr. Shaker, who promised to put Samia Islam Farzana, Shahed Anwar Shadhin, and both of their parents on record forever. In June 2025, over 22 of the most-read newspapers and news agencies in Bangladesh published and reported their crimes to the public. In July 2025, more than 200 news agencies worldwide printed and distributed Samia’s scam story and her photo alongside her criminal boyfriend, Shadhin—including some of the most famous online news agencies in the world some have over 150 million readers per month.
What began as a dream to change the world has now turned into one of the darkest betrayals in the history of youth empowerment.
